A damping pool - also called crankshawoly - is an essential part of the powertrain of a Diesel engine . This pulley is attached to the end of the crankshaft and ensures the drive of the auxiliary rod. Crucial components are controlled via this belt, such as the dynamo, water pump, air cocpressor and power steering pump.
In addition to its drive function, the damping pool plays an important role in damping vibrations that arise in the crankshaft. A defective or worn pulley can lead to malfunctions, damage to auxiliary units and in severe cases even to engine damage. In case of failure during company, internal timing and engine clocks can become disrupted, which with some engine and leads to valve and piston damage resulting in expensive repairs.
