Crankshaft
The crankshaft in an engine rotates constantly and can wear out over time. Its primary function is to convert the up-and-down motion of the pistons into smooth rotation. If the crankshaft is worn, the engine may vibrate and make unusual noises when starting. This often indicates problems, especially with the crankshaft bearings, which can become damaged from frequent use. It's important to perform regular maintenance and replace worn parts in time to ensure the crankshaft continues to function properly.
When replacing a diesel engine 's crankshaft after it's been removed from the vehicle, it's essential to inspect the engine for any other problems. Then, disassemble the old crankshaft by removing the necessary components, such as the oil pan, pistons, and connecting rods. Remove the mounting bolts and replace the crankshaft. Install new crankshaft bearings, making sure all surfaces are clean. Reinstall the engine components, including the pistons and connecting rods
