The Start engine is an electro engine that helps the Diesel engine start. As soon as you turn the key, the start engine will get electricity from the battery. With the help of a gear wheel, called the Pignon, the start engine turns the flywheel of the engine . This makes the engine running and the diesel can be burned, so that the engine continues to run independently.

The start engine also has a magnet, the solenoid, which slides the gear to the flywheel as soon as you start. As soon as the engine turns, the solenoid withdraws the gear, so that it does not turn and damaged.
