Schäffer Machines and Diesel engine
Schäffer machines are powered by diesel engine from Deutz and Kubota, depending on the machine type and performance requirements. The larger wheel loaders and telescopic shovels, such as the 6680 Z, 5470 Z, and 6680 T-3, use powerful Deutz turbodiesel engine , ranging from approximately 55 kW (75 hp) to 100 kW+ (136 hp in the 9640 T). This engine meets the latest emission standards (Stage V) thanks to technologies such as catalytic converters and diesel particulate filters.
For more compact articulated loaders, such as the Schäffer 2630 and 2028-2, Schäffer opts for Kubota 3-cylinder diesel engine and, for example, the D1703-M-Di, which are known for their reliability, efficiency, and sufficient power for smaller applications. These engine are modern and offer a good balance between performance and fuel consumption.
Schäffer thus combines a robust, clean Deutz engine for heavy-duty applications with a compact, efficient Kubota engine for smaller machines, enabling them to serve a wide range of construction and agricultural tasks.
